Proactively recruit for open management positions within the company through utilization of online sites, direct recruiting via competitive hotels, industry networking, referral based program with current Vista Host managers / directors, conducting initial phone interviews, processing pre-hire paperwork for candidates including reference checks, etc.
Maintain updated database of open management level positions and applicant status throughout the company, sharing this compilation on weekly basis with Vista Host executives.
Actively promote Vista Host within the industry and our specific markets to generate heightened exposure to top candidates.
Effectively manage and optimize our pre-screening applications and identify potential new applications to ensure direct correlation between our needs and the prominent traits and characteristics of our candidates.
Train hotel management to read pre-screening applications for job fits based on traits.
Monitor and maintain two recruiting portals.
Coordinate pre-hire paperwork, offer letters, and relocation agreement (when applicable) for management level hires following appropriate approvals of said candidates.
Lead Vista Host MIT (Manager In Training) program, to include:
Scheduling recruiting visits to colleges/universities
Pre-screening candidates with recruiting coordinators at respective schools to select interview candidates
Development of lasting relationships with faculty and staff with schools to ensure optimum exposure and promotion with students
Coordination of participation in career fairs where appropriate
Scheduling speaking engagements in hospitality related classes during visits
Planning and hosting information sessions night before interviews to further promote Vista Host
Conduct interviews with selected candidates with aim of successful identification of future General Managers, Directors of Sales, and beyond
Upon final approval by COO of recommended candidates, coordination of offer, training locale, and onboarding of MIT(s)
Hosting bi-weekly calls with all current and recent MIT’s to review progress and suggestions
Development and administration of incentive program for training GM’s who participate in MIT advancement
Facilitate company efforts aimed at hiring international students/graduates from partner colleges/universities interested in OPT Visa program for select markets where we operate hotels.
Communicate with VPs and all General Managers to mutually identify “star prospects” with considerable potential for management level positions in the future, followed by individual coaching (both in person and via phone / email communications) of said prospects to assist them in realizing their fullest potential.
Develop innovative recruiting methods to address the largest company-wide staffing threat of a considerable deterioration of qualified housekeeping team members.

Accept other related responsibilities directed by COO and Director of Operational Performance & Profitability in relation to maximizing service, profitability, revenues, and talent.
Travel estimated to be 60%+ (approximately 4 out of 6 weeks, typically 3 nights in duration per week). Varies by season.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
Have a proven and successful experience managing full-cycle recruiting processes consisting of sourcing, screening, on-boarding, and coaching.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment, be innovative and willing to take risks, be welcoming to change, and be proactive and self-motivated working under minimal supervision.
Excellent problem solving skills, work comfortably in a cross-functional setting, have a strong executive presence, work comfortably with senior business leadership and executives, and demonstrate composure under stress and in times of ambiguity.
Ability to travel. Must also maintain valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance.
